Sport: Valverde makes Fati first-team player until further notice
- Barca are currently facing an injury crisis.
- Fati is training with the first team and won't join the B team.
- Ernesto allegedly considers him a part of the senior squad.
No doubt, Ansu Fati is one of the most exciting La Masia products of the last five years. After making his debut against Real Betis, the 16-year-old became the youngest Barca player to score in La Liga, which happened in the match against Osasuna.
Following several weeks of training with the senior squad, Ernesto Valverde reportedly considers Fati an integral part of the first team and will remain a part of the coach's squad until further notice, according to a report from Diario Sport.
There is one good reason to believe the report. As you may remember, Valverde has planned three training sessions this week (Monday to Wednesday). Thursday through Sunday the players are free from training.
Ansu, who is officially still a part of Victor Valdes' U19 squad won't return to the youth team (who continue training) nor will he join the B side. Instead, the 16-year-old will rest, just like the senior players. Moreover, the winger is expected to be included in the squad for the Valencia game despite the expected returns for Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.
