Roberto Soldado has been enjoying a remarkable career. The striker has scored 7 goals in 12 appearances for dominating at the time La Furia Roja, has found the back of the net 111 times in 248 La Liga games and has had experiences in England and Turkey.
As the 34-year-old has returned to Spain to spend the 2019/20 campaign at Granada, the mature centre-forward has been asked on the most difficult defensive opponent. The former Valencia man has said the name of iconic Barcelona captain Carles Puyol, quoted by Goal:
"I would say Puyol is the one who has made me suffer the most.
"I think it was like war with Puyol. He was the most aggressive defender there was, the most heavy-handed.
"Then he was the one who complained the most. But, yes, there was a nice rivalry there and maybe he's the one who has given me the toughest battles."
Puyol spent his entire career at Camp Nou. The centre-back was part of the Blaugrana senior team for 15 seasons, making 682 appearances, scoring 24 goals and winning 18 major trophies, including 6 La Liga titles and 3 Champions League cups.
