Brazil boss: Only Messi & Ronaldo are better than Neymar
- Tite points out the forward takes part in half of Selecao's goals.
- The 27-year-old's influence on the pitch is huge, the specialist stresses.
- The 58-year-old would say only Cristiano & Leo are better in terms of individual technique quality.
Neymar didn't have a great last season at PSG. The Brazilian, haunted by injuries, only made 28 appearances across all competitions. Despite providing 23 goals and 13 assists in those clashes, the 27-year-old was hardly at his best.
Although the forward has not been included in the Les Parisiens squad this season so far, Brazil head coach Tite is confident the former Blaugrana attacker's going to make a difference in the world of football. The 2019 Copa America-winning manager has told Goal:
"Fifty per cent of goals scored by Brazil with Neymar on the pitch are because of his goals or an assist he makes.
"From individual technical quality, I put Lionel Messi on top and Cristiano Ronaldo, because they are of another generation."
Meanwhile, without their ace, the reigning Ligue 1 champions have still climbed to the top of the table. Thomas Tuchel's lads have won three of the four fixtures so far, losing once to Rennes - the team which, alongside Nice and Angers, could boast the exact same record as the French heavyweights at this stage.
For the sake of comparison, without Lionel Messi, Barcelona have only got the upper hand in one of their three La Liga games. With four points, the Catalans are currently 8th in the table, five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
Would you name Neymar the third-best player in the world, at least, in terms of technique?
