Neymar has taken part in his first game of the new season. Although that was just a friendly international, the Brazilian produced a picture-perfect return in front of a huge crowd in Miami.
Already at the beginning of the 1st half, the 27-year-old provided an assist for Casemiro as the Selecao managed to open the score. After that, an unlucky game period followed as Colombia levelled the score and even went in front thanks to Luis Muriel's brace. However, the five-time World Cup champions didn't stop scoring as they equalized after Neymar's no-nonsense finishing of Dani Alves's assist.
Neymar gained some extra experience of playing alongside Blaugrana players as Coutinho and Arthur Melo played almost the whole 90 minutes. What concerns Dani Alves, the 36-year-old was lucky enough to remind Barca fans of old times after he displayed great interconnection with his former teammate.
After the game, Brazil coach Tite admitted that he was prone to subbing Neymar out to play it safe but the player was well-prepared for playing until the end.
"In the second half, I told my coaching staff: 'I'm going to take him off' in order to protect him. But I saw my answer by how well he looked, strong and organised, and it was only improving as the match went on. He was ahead of my expectations."
It's expected that Neymar will return to action with PSG next week. Until that, he will take part in another friendly of his national team, this time against Peru.
