- Phil joined Bayern on a one-year loan with a buy option.
- Ter Stegen believes the most important thing is for the Brazilian to enjoy his stay in Germany.
- The goalkeeper admits Coutinho's time with Barca has been complicated.
Philippe Coutinho joined Bayern Munich on an €8,5million season-long loan deal from Barcelona this summer. The Bavarians are able to sign him on a permanent basis for €120 million euros until July 2020. Coutinho joined Bundesliga outfit after just 18 months in La Liga and only a handful of goals last season.
In his recent interview with T-online, Marc-Andre ter Stegen sent his ex-teammate a message of encouragement:
"I wish Coutinho, above all, to have fun. He is not only a fantastic footballer, but he also has a great personality.
"At Barca it has not always been easy for him, so now I hope that at Bayern he can enjoy football again and feel comfortable.
"It's not even necessary to say anything about his quality, because he is an excellent player and his signing is an absolute enrichment for the Bundesliga," concluded the German.
The 27-year-old has taken part in beating Mainz, 6-1 after the Schalke win. While Coutinho is far from finding the net or making an assist, first-team involvement has surely raised his spirits.
"There are a lot of good players, top players and great players [here]," the Brazilian told Bundesliga.com.
"I'm really happy to be here so that I can learn from them and get better."
