Ibrahimovic statue to be unveiled in Sweden
Don't you forget Zlatan played at Camp Nou scoring some crackers.
Former Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have a statue erected in his honour in Malmo. The bronze monument stands 2.7m tall and weighs 500kg. It's a gift from the Swedish Football Association for Zlatan's remarkable career.
"I'm very happy with the decision to place the statue in Malmo, it was my wish from the very beginning. This is where everything started, and this is where my heart is," says Ibrahimovic. "It feels unreal.
"Many are thinking 'why him?’ and so on, but after all the hard work over 15 years in the national team and 20 years in my club career, it feels like it's being appreciated. You usually get this after you die, but I still feel alive. When I die, this will live on forever."
The Swede signed for Barcelona in 2009 only to be loaned out the following year. He never got along with Pep Guardiola. He still scored the winning goal in one of the El Clasicos that season.
