Pique: 'I'll invite Real Madrid players to Davis Cup'
- Gerard is known for being an entrepreneur.
- His company made a huge investment into Davis cup.
- He'd gladly welcome Florentino Perez and all Madrid players to the tournament.
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique would gladly welcome everyone to the new, revamped edition of the good old Davis Cup.
Even the likes of Florentino Perez and all Real Madrid players would be gladly welcomed to the new competition, Gerard says:
"Of course I will invite him, one thing is football and another one is tennis, I will invite all the Real Madrid and Atletico players to join the show.
"You have to separate one thing and the other, one thing is when we are involved in football and rivalry and other things are to look from outside, and I am sure Madrid and Atletico players will want to see Rafa Nadal and the Spanish team trying to win their sixth title."
Pique is the founder and president of Kosmos Holding group which recently bought the rights to organize the Davis Cup, one of the most important competitions in international tennis.
Moreover, Kosmos Holding is also the owner of FC Andorra, a small club from the country with the same name. After just one year with the club, Gerard managed to get them from the fifth tier into the third tier of Spanish football. First, the club won promotion into the fourth league, after which Pique bought another club, Gimnastic, and merged the two in order to get FC Andorra to play in Segunda B alongside Barca B.
