Fati named as 'probably the most gifted young footballer' in the world
- The Guardian has compiled a list of the 60 most-talented players born in 2002.
- No wonder that Ansu makes the list.
- The outlet highlight the winger as probably the most talented among the other names on the list.
British top outlet The Guardian have compiled a list of 60 most-talented players born in 2002. Barca's youngster Ansu Fati is, of course, included on the list.
However, the Guardian's Maher Mezahi specifically highlights the Blaugrana player as "probably the most gifted young footballer on this list and possibly of his generation."
Besides Fati, there are two other names on the list that could specifically interest Barca's fans. First of them is Pedri, whom Barca bought from Las Palmas this summer. However, the youngster stayed with the Canaries for another season on loan and we are yet to see him in action. The second name is Pablo Moreno, a La Masia product that recently joined Juventus.
So far this season, Fati has played six games for the senior squad, scoring two goals and providing one assist. The winger had been struggling with a muscle injury but was included in the squad list against Sevilla. Ansu is the youngest ever goalscorer in Barca's history as well as the youngest ever player to feature in the Champions League.
Despite all the hype around the youngster, former Barcelona player Gica Popescu warns the fans that they must have patience when it comes to Fati.
"You shouldn't put too much pressure on, [he's just] a boy. You have to be careful. He is only 16 years old and there will be times when he won't play so well, so you have to restrain from asking him to make the difference," he argued.
