Leo Messi transcends football and now has a Cirque du Soleil show inspired from his life and career. The spectacle, named Messi10, premiered in Barcelona on October 10, where it is going to run until January 2020 before moving to Argentina.
Allegedly, the show lasts 90 minutes and is divided into two halves of 45, just like a football match. The scene is stylized after a football field and the show features several acrobatic disciplines, with videos of the 32-year-old's special moments. It is said that the Argentine collaborated with the organisers and even took part in special photoshoots for the show.
The player was present at the event, accompanied by his wife Antonella. Besides, several team-mates were present, including Ansu Fati. Jose Manuel Pinto, Barca's ex-player and a good friend of Messi, also attended the premiere.
And it wasn't only players who came to see the show. Reportedly, Barca board members lead by club's president Josep Bartomeu were also there.
It is the first time the famous circus have build a spectacle around the world of football, having dedicated previous shows to artists like Michael Jackson and The Beatles. And they chose the best player in the game to start.
"I'm very excited. To have a show with the Cirque Du Soleil is something extraordinary, unique; I'm very happy," Leo said at the presentation of the event.
