Griezmann finally opens up on his most suitable position
- The Frenchman admits playing as a winger makes him feel uncomfortable.
- He'd rather play more central, he says.
- Antoine knew playing for Barca would be a tough challenge.
Following a 2-1 win over Moldova on Thursday, Antoine Griezmann commented on what position suits him most.
"Playing more central is better for me since I can orientate better. I've been playing in this position for many years and now what I have to do is to adapt."
Regarding his adaptation troubles at Barca, Griezmann admits he knew it wouldn't be easy.
"I'm learning a lot, although I already knew playing for Barcelona was going to be difficult."
In Thursday's game against Moldova, Antoine Griezmann played as a central attacking midfielder as Olivier Giroud spent the whole game upfront. The player's stats with his national team show he's been extremely good in this position.
Antoine Griezmann's weak impact is one of the major issues for Barca these days. Some fans blame Lionel Messi for not supporting him on the pitch, others claim that it's Griezmann himself who doesn't use his chances properly. Didier Deschamps, France head coach, represents the third group that thinks the coaching staff is the only one to blame.
Since the season's start, Antoine Griezmann has scored 4 goals and made 3 assists in 15 appearances.
