Barca set to terminate Schalke's Miranda loan

23 days ago , Konstantin Kuzhalevich

  • The 19-year-old is completely out-of-favour at Schalke.
  • He hasn't spent a single minute on the pitch in Bundesliga yet.
  • Barcelona consider ways of terminating the loan in the nearest future.

Barcelona are said to study the opportunity of terminating Juan Miranda's loan at Schalke 04, Mundo Deportivo informs.

The 19-year-old hasn't made a single appearance for Schalke 04 yet, although he's always on the team squad list. The Spaniard loses the competition to the 30-year-old Bastian Oczipka who's a preferred left-back option for David Wagner, the main coach of 'Die Knappen'.

Supposed Miranda returns to Barca, he will most likely spend the rest of the season with the B team. Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo seem to be indisputable as the first two left-back options for Ernesto Valverde this season.

The 19-year-old moved to Schalke on a two-year loan earlier in the summer. As part of Barcelona B, the promising left-back made 30 appearances in two seasons in which he scored 2 goals and made 3 assists.

That's the results you get when you just carelessly or blindly set your young players on loans without some protection clauses that would guarantee playing time for your players on loans. This is sad; wouldn't have gotten playing time anyway under Valverde. It's a sad situation at the club.
