Messi’s message to Neymar: ‘I will leave in 2 years, you’ll take my place'
- Messi talked with Neymar after Champions League knockout last season.
- The Argentine asked his former attacking partner to come back.
- Leo promised the Brazilian that he will become his heir at the Camp Nou when he'll leave in two seasons.
France Football, the magazine which awards the Golden Ball, reveals the details of an astonishing conversation that reportedly took place between Leo Messi and Neymar after Liverpool knocked Barca out of the Champions League last season.
The Argentine reportedly told his former attacking partner: “Only together can we win the Champions League. I want you to come back, in two years I will leave and you will be alone. You will take my place.”
This is why Barcelona pushed so hard to bring the Brazilian back last summer.
Does Neymar still have Barca's DNA in him? Check out his play from back in the days:
According to Barca sporting director Eric Abidal, the 'door is still open' for Neymar to return to Camp Nou next summer. It looks like both parties, Barca and Ney, want the move to happen.
Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director Leonardo Araujo, meanwhile, assumes that Neymar will leave the club next summer (Paris United). It is said that the Parisians won't offer the Brazilian a new contract after the soap opera from last summer.
So far this season, Neymar has made only six appearances while scoring four goals. The Brazil international is once again struggling with injuries.
