Barca director Amor doesn't think coach change will hurt Barca
- Setien succeeded Valverde as the head coach at Barca.
- Barca are entering the most intense part of the season.
- Barca official Amor thinks the changes won't hurt the performances that much.
Barcelona director of institutional relations Guillermo Amor talked to the press following the Copa del Rey draw. The official was asked whether the club fears that their performances would drop at first considering that they've changed coaches only recently.
“We are in a good moment. There has been a change of coach but we face the tie with maximum enthusiasm. We hope it affects us as little as possible, although I think it will not affect us [at all]. We are prepared to win."
The official also used the press conference as an opportunity to thank Ernesto Valverde for his work at Camp Nou as well as to welcome Quique Setien.
“You have to welcome Setien and show your gratitude to Ernesto Valverde for his character and working style. Also for personality and professionalism. It is something that you have to applaud. He has done a very good job and I wish him luck."
Ernesto Valverde was given the sack after Barca's 3-2 loss to Atletico Madrid. The game itself served as a final blow, as the Catalans have been struggling since last spring. More exactly, after the 4-0 loss to Liverpool.
