Szczesny: 'Dreams became objectives'
- Wojciech Szczesny admitted Juventus is currently one of the best teams in the world, saying that their 'dreams have become objectives'
On the sidelines of the annual pre-season friendly with the Primavera squad at Villar Perosa, the Polish goalkeeper has commented on the transfer campaign, during which Bianconeri, who have been dominating in Serie A for seven years in a row now, have brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Leonardo Bonucci, Emre Can and Mattia Perin.
"It was a great transfer session that brings real enthusiasm", Szczesny said to Sky Sport Italia. Now dreams have become objectives and the squad is complete. We want to achieve every target and that means starting well in Serie A, which will put us in a position to go far in other competitions too."
"All the new arrivals are very strong, while obviously Ronaldo is someone who makes the difference. Unfortunately, he also scores a lot of goals in training…", the goalie adds.
Well, Wojciech doesn't have to get used to it...
The 28-year-old was also asked to assess if Juve is currently the strongest side in the world.
"I don’t know about that, but we are certainly one of the strongest", the answer was.
Wojciech Szczesny joined the Old Lady in 2017. Being out-shadowed by the legend Gigi Buffon, the goalkeeper has managed to make 17 caps for the team since then.
