Lichtsteiner: 'Hope Juve win Champions League'
- Former Juventus player Stefan Lichtsteiner wished Juve the Champions League triumph
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after his current side Arsenal have lost 2-0 to the reigning champions Manchester City in the Premier League first leg, Stefan Lichtsteiner has shared a couple of words concerning his former team.
"I hope they win the Champions League, Juventus deserves it after two finals lost", the Swiss said.
"Regretting leaving Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo arrived? I wanted a new challenge, I'm happy for Juventus, but now it's only Arsenal for me", he added.
The 34-year-old was subbed for the Gunners earlier today as the young full-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles suffered an injury. Stefan played as a left-back, which is unusual to see for Juve fans, as Arsenal's left-backs Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal were also unavailable.
Stefan Lichtsteiner has joined Arsenal this summer. He spent 7 years at Juventus, having won a Scudetto in all of these seasons. Having made more than 200 appearances for the Old Lady, the Swiss suffered two Champions League final losses to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
