Diego Simeone opines on Ronaldo's red card: 'VAR needed'
• Atletico Madrid coach supports CR7, who has been sent off for 'pulling' Murillo's hair
• El Cholo states that CL need to introduce VAR in the shortest time possible, to avoid such controversies in the future
Diego Simeone gave his assessment of 'Valencia incident' talking during his presser ahead of Getafe match:
“With VAR, seeing the way in which Ronaldo was sent off, we have to pay attention to what is done. He did not seem to have done anything, but he was sent off. The referees have help with regard to play, intensity and on-the-field situations and that conditions what happens on the field,”
“In my opinion, VAR favors justice in the game and with the passage of time it cannot do anything but improve,” the former Lazio striker added.
Ronaldo was red-carded in the 29th minute after a clash with Valencia's defender Jeison Murillo. Ronaldo tried to go for the Colombian defender’s hair after the collision and has been immediately red-carded by German referee Felix Brych.
