Andrea Barzagli believes current Juve squad are up to winning the CL
• The 37-year-old veteran believes the current squad is the strongest he ever played for
• The addition of fantastic Cristiano will make Bianconeri's objective easier, Juve's No. 15 reasons
“It has been a convincing start to the season, with great performances and spirit,” Barzagli told Juventus.com, assessing first 8 games in Serie A so far.
“It’s not easy to win every time and will be even tougher to improve from this level and keep getting stronger. This team has been constructed to fight for every target.
“On paper, it is the strongest Juve side I have ever played in, and is certainly the most complete team unit.”
Ronaldo's addition will surely boost Bianconeri's chances of bagging the CL and Andrea fully agrees with that:
“After two Champions League Finals that we lost, and games where we proved that we’re up to the task, we are more and more convinced that we can do it.
“With Cristiano Ronaldo and other champions coming in, whereas before we saw the Champions League as a dream, it is now an objective.”
Finally, Juve's No.15 was asked what it is like to play with Cristiano Ronaldo, "We tend to think of him as an extra-terrestrial, but he is a normal person who laughs and jokes with us, the group is very happy with his arrival."
Barzagli has had a glorious career, having played for a score of Italian clubs and one German, before penning a deal with Juve in 2011. He's believed to be one of the most complete defenders in a while
