Mirror: LFC reportedly ready to reward Robertson with new deal
- Robbo is set to be offered a £60,000-a-week deal by Liverpool
- The negotiations are said to be arranged already
According to the Mirror, the Anfield bosses will hand Andrew Robertson a new contract on improved terms. The report claims that a £60,000-a-week deal is waiting for Robbo's signature as a recognition of his achievements at the club.
The fact that Robbo's current contract runs until 2021 doesn't stop LFC hierarchy from giving the Scot a new one. If he puts pen to paper Robbo will double his wage.
The left-back joined Anfield last summer for £10million from Hull City. That transfer looks like a real bargain retrospectively. Robertson said of the move: “My family are proud of what I’ve achieved so far and they’re all over the moon with the move, as well as me of course. We’re all just looking forward to being part of the Liverpool family now.
“There’s not many, if any, more special clubs than Liverpool. When you grow up as a kid you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me.
“I just want to prove to people that I can do it at this level, and hopefully I manage to do that this season and go on to do good things for this club.”
And those words were truly prophetic. The 24-year-old has quickly established himself as a confirmed starter and has become a fan favourite. His remarkable performances last seasons where beyond boldest expectations.
The Mirror say the club's chiefs have already arranged talks with players representatives. They believe the agreement will be reached quickly to satisfy all parties involved.
