Ryan Kent to Rangers should be a no-brainer for the Scottish side
- Sunday Mail journalist Scott McDermott claims signing Ryan Kent Should be a no-brainer for Rangers
- The 22-year-old is a key player in Steven Gerrard's team and has made 22 appearances since the start of the season
Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent has certainly settled in well with Rangers at Ibrox since the start of the season. The 22-year-old has made 22 appearances under Steven Gerrard and looks a key player these days.
That's why rumours of Gers looking for Kent's permanent transfer grow stronger as we approach the January transfer window.
Sunday Mail chief football writer Scott McDermott believes it should be a no brainer for the Gers.
"I think Ryan Kent’s shown more than enough to suggest that he can be a big player for Rangers," McDermott told the Rangers Record podcast. "I think Ryan Kent’s shown more than enough to suggest that he can be a big player for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and even in the Old Firm [derby] as he’s done so far this season.
"I think it’s clear he’s not gonna go back to Liverpool and trouble their first-team, he’s not gonna get in there ahead of guys like [Sadio] Mane and [Mohamed] Salah and the rest.
"So Ryan Kent’s representatives will even now be looking around and thinking ‘right, what’s our best option here?’ And given the fact that he seems to have really enjoyed this spell at Rangers, Steven Gerrard’s put a lot of faith in him, he’s played in big games, he’s started big games, I’d be very surprised if the player and his agent haven’t got Rangers at the top of the list in terms of a potential destination at the end of the season."
