Boss gives resolute 4-word response to Camacho loan rumours
- Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he won't allow Rafa to leave the club in January.
- The 18-year-old has been linked with a loan move to his boyhood club Sporting.
Rafael Camacho has made his official Liverpool debut in the FA Cup clash against the Wolves. The versatile flank player replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back and actually impressed. With the Reds clearly suffering at back-line depth due to numerous injuries, there have been reports that Jurgen Klopp won't entertain the idea of loaning out the 18-year-old anywhere despite some sides' major interest.
The German himself has drawn the line at the talks at Friday's pre-Brighton presser, as quoted by Liverpoolfc.com: "Rafa will not leave."
According to Record, a media outlet in Portugal, Jurgen Klopp vetoed a decision to let the 18-year-old full-back move on loan to his boyhood club Sporting. The manager is short of options to cover a right-back position after Clyne's departure to Bournemouth. Letting go another defender could have put the head coach in trouble in case TAA gets injured.
According to the Daily Mail report, Liverpool initially aimed to send the full-back on an 18-month loan spell to Sporting Lisbon. It was said Jurgen Klopp wanted the youngster to continue his development abroad and the Portuguese club was considered a good option for Camacho. ESPN sources also confirmed this information.
Rafael joined us in 2016 from Manchester City. A natural forward, he was converted into a right-back by Steven Gerrard. He was named on the bench last season vs Everton at Goodison Park.
