Mourinho claims he knew last summer Liverpool & City would be only teams to fight for title
- Jose Mourinho reveals he saw the two-horse Premier League title race coming way before it happened.
- The former United boss expects a fantastic fight between the two teams.
Liverpool are currently enjoying their arguably best season of the Premier League era. The Reds are on top of the table, 7 points clear from the rivals in Manchester City who played one game less. Jose Mourinho, recently fired by Manchester United, said on BeIN Sport in the run-up to the Chelsea vs Arsenal game he already saw it coming back in the pre-season, as well as the fact that Man United were going to have a tough season:
"When I was at Madrid, to win the title we had to do 100 points. Some matches were easy to win but the pressure that is behind you...you know if you draw, Barcelona will win the game and you won't win the title. You have this pressure every day.
The man is deluded. Does he even believe his own nonsense? Unlike Mourinho at United, Klopp has continuously improved Liverpool which is apparent in both play style and results. Of course that earns the trust to carry on.— Gavin Thorpe (@GavinThorpe5) January 19, 2019
"Premier League is very competitive but now it's becoming a little bit more predictable. At the beginning of the season, I could immediately say for the title [it is] Liverpool and Manchester City. And after that, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, two of them are going to be out of the top-4. Even with the great investment, Everton made I could never feel they would be in the top-6.
"It will be a fantastic fight between Liverpool and Manchester City. But since the beginning, you feel these two are going to be there."
