4 Liverpool players get into Telegraph's Premier League team of the season
- Telegraph's Chief Football Correspondent Jason Burt chose his Premier League team of the season and only 4 Reds made the cut.
- They are Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane.
"The 20-year-old is run close by Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka who has been excellent this season but is selected because he has put in some very impressive performances in high-pressure, big games for Liverpool. Like Andrew Robertson the other flank he is a key creative force with his high number of assists."
Virgil van Dijk
"Simply a colossus at the heart of Liverpool’s defence. He has been unbeatable, quite literally, this season and adds a calmness and presence that helps those around him to his obvious defensive qualities. The size of Van Dijk also makes a difference. He seems to intimidate opposition into submission."
"The left-back has been simply outstanding, producing some incredible, energetic performances and providing Liverpool with the attacking width to help their forwards. The Scot is also tenacious – as Lionel Messi found out – and has forged a strong bond with the Liverpool fans."
"Twenty-two league goals this season and a share of the Golden Boot with Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is impressive enough but Mane has also scored a number of crucial goals this season and not least when Salah hit a fallow period. He has been the most impressive of Liverpool’s attacking triumvirate."
