Klopp hints at reshuffling starting line-up to face Chelsea in Super Cup
- Klopp admits that Southampton game on Saturday already occupies his mind.
- Fresh legs are pretty much desired in both games.
- Therefore he's willing to make some changes in Super Cup starting eleven compared to the PL opener.
- 'We have opportunities and I think we will use a few of them'.
The official travelling squad to Istanbul where Chelsea clash will take place has been released recently. All the familiar faces, apart from Lovren and Alisson are included, no new injury concerns have emerged lately and, therefore, Klopp has plenty of options to choose from.
And, apparently, some relatively unexpected choices are to be expected, as Klopp hints at few changes he's considering to make in a starting line-up compared to Norwich clash. He admits Southampton standoff scheduled on Saturday is something he has to bear in mind when managing the rotation at the start of the campaign.
"It’s difficult to say now about the Southampton game, it’s not too cool to think about the next game really before you play the first one, but you can’t ignore it," boss told Liverpoolfc.com. "We have to see but it’s more about that we are early in the season, a lot of players made a good impression in pre-season [and some] came back late, so that’s all good.
"We have opportunities and I think we will use a few of them just to bring fresh legs, to show immediately that we can play good football in different line-ups and stuff like this. So yes, there will be a few changes I think."
"Wednesday is the game - it was Friday to Wednesday so that should be OK," he continued. "But after that we need to think about the Southampton game, we come back on Thursday and two days later we play Southampton, so we cannot ignore that game as well."
By the way, what should Klopp give priority to when preparing the team, UEFA Super Cup or Southampton clash in Premier League?
