BREAKING: Naby Keita leaves training early due to alleged muscle issue
- Keita felt muscle discomfort during open training at Vadafone Stadium ahead of Chelsea clash.
- He left the pitch with a physio.
- It could be an injury recurrence.
David Maddock reports Keita left training early as he might have suffered a muscle problem. When taking part in an open training session at Vadafone Stadium ahead of UEFA Super Cup clash against Chelsea he pulled up with alleged muscle issue.
Maddock writes: "He walked off with a physio and went straight down the tunnel, which suggests it's not the best news, and could be an injury recurrence."
Naby has just recovered from a thigh injury he picked up in the semi-finals against Barcelona and which relapsed during international duty. He returned to training early in the month and made a tremendous impression on Klopp.
Jurgen said: "He looks completely different, this pre-season looks completely different. He was now only the last two weeks in but you could see already that he’s much more settled in the team: completely different body language and everything is different. We expect a lot and he expects a lot and rightly so."
However, if the reports are true indeed, Keita is to endure yet another lapse in terms of fitness and general sharpness ahead of what appeared to become Keita's breakthrough season start.
