- United should go all in for the Leicester ace this summer, according to the ex-Liverpool defender.
- The 22-year-old has proven he's ready to make a step forward, according to Nicol.
“He is the real deal. I think he is a proper player and I don’t think there is a facet of his game that isn’t strong and getting better,” Nicol told ESPN FC. “His work rate is great, his touch, he sees a pass, and he scores great goals.
“I really don’t see a flaw and I only see this guy getting better and if I am Leicester I am not letting him go anywhere. But if I am Manchester United, in particular, I am going to sign this guy because they are going to have to speculate a lot in this transfer window.
“United don’t need young, up and coming players that are not quite ready yet, they need proven quality and that is what this guy is. If I am Manchester United, I know it is going to cost you a lot of money, but you are going to have to take somewhat of a gamble on some players and I don’t think he is a gamble.”
According to The Independent, United have moved ahead of their Prem rivals in the race for Maddison. Leicester value the 22-year-old at £60 million - the asking price United are willing to meet.
