Alderweireld stays adamant amid United links
- Asked directly about his future, the United-bound Belgian gives a tricky answer as he points out he is now simply joining the Spurs pre-season
Alderweireld told HLN Sport: "This weekend I am just going back to London because then the preparation starts at my club. I have been working on my condition for a while because I want to be as fit as I can be."
The Belgium international, 29, will be able to leave next summer two weeks before the transfer window for a mere £25m but right now, Spurs reportedly demand up to £75m for their star who often found himself frozen out last season.
Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, allegedly remains desperate for a new centre-back, with Yerry Mina, Harry Maguire, and Toby himself being the most discussed options for a Man United switch.
