Cameron Borthwick-Jackson still eyes Man United challenge - even from League One
- Left-back Borthwick-Jackson is now on loan at Scunthorpe
- Contracted to Man United until 2020, he looks to emulate his hero Ashley Young
Borthwick-Jackson, who has made 14 appearances for United during Louis van Gaal reign, tells Sport360 how he hopes to revive his career in League One: ''I want to help the team push for promotion and obviously give the fans something to be excited about along the way. I probably do better when I have a run of games and get into my stride.
''When I was at Wolves [another loan], the first game I played I got man of the match and the next game I was in the stands, so it was a bit of a strange one.
CBJ has been at Man United since the age of 6 and his dream is not yet dead. Having felt the Old Trafford pitch under his feet, he hopes for an about-turn in this career. Ashley Young inspires him in this: ''It’s crazy. The consistency he shows and how committed he is to the game is just something that I look at and think 'that’s what I need to be doing'.''
Asked if he could mount a challenge for Young and Luke Shaw, he snapped: ''Yeah, but I feel when I get back to my best, then hopefully I can be challenging.''
