For the first time this season, United are predicted to finish in top 4
- The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League table, with 38 points after 21 games.
- However, ESPN FC's senior writer Mark Ogden expects Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to finish the season in fourth place.
Ogden's end-of-the-season predictions:
1. Manchester City
4. Manchester United
Main obstacle: "Sunday's trip to Tottenham was always a big game, but with Solskjaer overseeing four successive league wins, it has become an acid test. Has the revival been a flash in the pan, made easier by a soft run of fixtures, or is it a sign of United returning to their best? If they do not win at Wembley, the top four will look increasingly out of reach, but a victory would maintain momentum."
At half-time vs Reading, Solskjær was unhappy with the performance and screamed directly at his players for a minute or two to make his point - and then calmly discussed how #mufc would tackle the second half #mulive [james ducker]— utdreport (@utdreport) January 11, 2019
Main problem: "At some point, the Solskjaer honeymoon will end, but if he can postpone the inevitable long enough, United might be in a position to finish in the top four. It is all about how they react when the setback comes."
