Spanish source: Philippe Coutinho 'tempted' by United's offer
- The player is reportedly unhappy at Barca due to the lack of the playing time.
- The Red Devils allegedly ready to offer £146m for the 26-year-old midfielder.
- He considers leaving The Blaugrana in case Ernesto Valverde refuses to start him more frequently.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Philippe Coutinho considers parting ways with Barcelona. However, he wouldn't like to leave Camp Nou in January as he would rather do it in the summer. The source state that would happen only if he continues to be sidelined by the Spanish club's manager Ernesto Valverde. The Brazilian spent only 62 minutes on the pitch in Barca's last four La Liga games.
The player is allegedly 'tempted' by The Red Devils' offer as the club's representatives are already making efforts to snatch Coutinho from The Blaugrana.
Since the start of the campaign, Coutinho has netted four goals and provided his teammates with four assists. His latest goal was scored against Levante in the 1-2 defeat in the Copa del Rey. The Spanish outlet report The Red Devils are ready to offer £146m for the player. Moreover, if the transfer ever materializes, Liverpool, the club Philippe spent five years at, would reportedly lose £22m according to the special clause in the midfielder's contract.
Coutinho's market value development
The 26-year-old midfielder joined The Blaugrana last January for £117m according to Transfermarkt. His current estimated market value is around £126m. The Brazilian has failed to become a regular player at Camp Nou: since the start of the season, Coutinho has featured in 16 La Liga games but spent the full 90 minutes on the pitch in only four of them.
Ernesto Valverde, meanwhile, has backed Coutinho to turn his situation around: "The other day [agaist Levante] wasn't a good game for the whole team. Coutinho has had some great games for us and hopefully, he will continue in that manner."
