Alexis Sanchez return drawing near with his injury problem identified
- Ole would expect Sanchez to be ready for this week's match.
- He admits Alexis is struggling to leave the injury fully behind.
- Bailly will be available for selection against Brighton, Smalling may be back either.
Alexis Sanchez had to miss the Spurs game last week because of an injury setback he had suffered in the FA Cup meeting with Reading the previous week. This Saturday, United host Brighton & Hove Albion and there's an expectation among the coaching staff.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when the Chilean might be expected back: ''Maybe on Wednesday he'll be in full training. It's just one of those blows. He is just having a hard time getting rid of it. Maybe next week he could be involved.''
Sanchez quite impressed in those two games he had under the new head coach. Although he scored no goals, his creative spark was at the centre of things against Reading and Newcastle. He provided two assists.
They still miss him:
This week, Chris Smalling could be back in training while Eric Bailly has served his 3-match suspension and would be available for selection against Brighton.
It remains a riddle what plans Ole has for Marouane Fellaini and Antonio Valencia. Neither travelled to London last week amid rumours both could be heading away from Old Trafford already this month. Matteo Darmian wasn't involved, either.
