'You just close your eyes, raise your arms & feel nothing but pure enjoyment': Robin van Persie recalls winning Premier League with Manchester United
- The Dutchman claims he came to United to win the Premier League.
- The 35-year-old stresses it was unbelievable to achieve the goal.
Back in August 2012, Robin van Persie left Arsenal for Manchester United on a £22.5m deal. Despite the role of a leader and merits of one of the deadliest striker in the world earned at Emirates, the Dutchman was desperate to win major trophies and the Red Devils were the destination.
The goalscorer achieved his goal in no time as United went on to win the Premier League in his very first season at the club. As the 35-year-old has now officially announced the end of his playing career, van Persie has recalled the Old Trafford memories speaking to Manutd.com:
"I came to Manchester United to win the Premier League.
It was a privilege. I would like to thank my managers and team mates, and the fans that have supported me and my family over the years. I am going to miss the game, but am looking forward to the next chapter in my life. ⚽❤— Robin van Persie (@Persie_Official) May 14, 2019
