How many players United can sign in January: explained in 30 seconds
It's just over a month and a half before January transfer window opens. Here is Tribuna.com's guide on United most likely purchases in the winter.
United are allowed to sign three more players without any departures in the winter. A Premier League club can have no more than 25 senior players and the Red Devils have 22 at the moment (players aged 21 and younger, e.g. Mason Greenwood and Diogo Dalot, are included in a separate squad list).
Speaking to the reporters ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Partizan, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed United may sign up to two players in January. There's also a possibility of zero additions to the squad, according to the boss.
That being said, who United will target in the winter market?
RB Salzburg hitman Erling Haaland, Moussa Dembele from Lyon and Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the past few months. Everton forward Richarlison is another target who United are closely keeping tabs on (Evening Standard).
The Red Devils let Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera leave the club in the last two windows without signing a replacement. Paul Pogba's injury absence leaves Solskjaer with Fred, Scott McTominay and James Garner as his only midfield options.
While Andres Pereira is more or less acceptable in the no.10 role, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata don't seem to be decent candidates to replace him in case of a potential injury.
