Antonio Valencia set for United testimonial in 2020
- Valencia left United in 2017 after spending 10 years at Old Trafford.
- The former captain will have a chance to say a proper goodbye next year.
- Ecuadorian side LDU expect a testimonial game for the 34-year-old to be held at Old Trafford.
L.D.U. Quito director Esteban Paz has confirmed that a testimonial match in honour of former United captain Antonio Valencia will be played at Old Trafford in 2020.
Speaking to Radio Huancavilca, Paz said (via Sport Witness): "Soon we'll have the possibility to play against United at Old Trafford, where Antonio Valencia will have his farewell match. We hope it will be for the first quarter of next year."
Valencia joined LDU on a free transfer in the summer after the board decided against offering the right-back a new deal.
The 34-year-old made 339 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils during his 10-year spell at Old Trafford, captaining the club in 2018/19.
Valencia has recently added a Copa Ecuador to his trophy cabinet as his LDU have won the two-legged final against Delfin.
