Telegraph: Liverpool would have to pay at least £20m to land Jamal Lewis
  • Jamal Lewis has been heavily linked with Liverpool by top sources and an estimated value of £10m appeared in those reports.
  • However, The Telegraph now claim that the Reds will have to at least double their initial Lewis' evaluation in order to try to sign the 22-year-old.
  • The report claims that Norwich rejected a £12m bid from Crystal Palace for the youngster in January and despite their relegation, they seem confident of setting their own terms for the players' departures.
  • The Canaries have no pressure of selling Lewis this summer as the left-back still has 3 years remaining on his contract.
  • Such a strong negotiating position suggests that Norwich will not consider any bids lower than £20m.
  • It's worth noting, however, that Norwich have been reported to be interested in Yasser Larouci, so maybe the price will be lowered a bit if a player plus cash offer is submitted.
  • Lewis is one of the 4 players on Liverpool's reported target list of potential backups for Robertson and should the Reds find these terms unsuitable they can always turn to other options - Olympiacos' Konstantinos Tsimikas for instance.
