Ahead of Manchester United's game against Crystal Palace, Patrice Evra named quite an ambiguous reason why things never worked out for Wilfried Zaha at Old Trafford.
"We all know Wilfried Zaha is better than Crystal Palace, with all due respect, he’s such an electric player," the Frenchman told Sky Sports.
"I think what ruined his career for Manchester United is when he had this true or untrue affair with David Moyes’ daughter. Because I remember in pre-season he was playing in every game, but when that news came out... he was out of the game and he disappeared."
After the clash, host Kelly Cates made a statement to fix the situation.
"We have to clarify a comment made earlier in the programme, suggesting that there may have been a relationship between Wilfried Zaha and David Moyes' daughter," the Scottish presenter said.
"We understand that Wilfried Zaha has never met David Moyes' daughter and that the claim made by Patrice was false. We apologise for any offence caused."
Zaha joined Manchester United in January 2013. The forward made four appearances for the Reds, spending most of his two-year stint at Old Trafford on loan at Cardiff City and Crystal Palace. In February 2015, the Ivorian came back to the Eagles on a permanent basis.
