- German authorities have arrested ex-St. Pauli midfielder Deniz Naki for allegedly running a criminal organisation in the city of Aachen, according to Die Welt.
- The 31-year-old, born in Germany to Kurdish parents, is believed to be involved in drug trafficking and providing funding for PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) terror group.
- Back in 2016, Naki was was given an 18-month suspended prison sentence and put on a five-year probation by a Turkish court for 'promoting terrorist propaganda' via his social media activity.
- Aachen Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Jan Balthasar said: "We cannot currently confirm that financial resources are provided specifically for the PKK. If the PKK connection is found, the Federal Prosecutor's Office will look into the event."
