'Perez lied'. Leaked document shows how many days Bayern, PSG and BVB have left to join the Super League

Leaked documents obtained by German media outlet Der Spiegel show that Florentino Perez's recent claims about Bayern MunichBorussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain and their potential participation in the European Super League weren't true.

As it stands, Bayern Munich and BVB, as well as PSG, were invited to join the new league. Both German sides were given 30 days to reply to the offer while PSG have 14 days to think it over.

Meanwhile, in his interview with El Chiringuito, Perez insisted that none of the three clubs had been in talks with the ESL founders.

"PSG were not invited, as of today," Florentino said.

"We haven't even spoken to German clubs. We are now 12 clubs, we want to become 15 clubs.

"If PSG and Bayern Munich refuse, the Super League competition will not be cancelled. This is bulls***."

UEFA executive confirms 3 clubs are expected to be removed from Champions League semi-finals

According to Jesper Moller, the Danish FA chairman and a member of the UEFA Executive Committee, the founding clubs of the breakaway European Super League that still remain in the Champions League are set to be removed.

"[Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea] are going out and I expect that to happen on Friday," he told DR Sport. "And then you have to see how to finish the Champions League."

If this was to happen, Paris Saint-Germain would be the only club remaining in the competition.

Meanwhile, two more ESL-founding members, namely Manchester United and Arsenal, are still alive in the Europa League. Their future remains unknown.

Jurgen Klopp was asked about European Superleague in 2019. Now his response is going viral

After Liverpool confirmed their participation into the newly-formed European Super League, Jurgen’s Klopp’s answer when asked about this kind of competition in 2019 has gone viral.

When asked about his thoughts on a potential Super League in football, he told Kicker: “I hope this Super League will never happen.

“With the way the Champions League is now running, football has a great product, even with the Europa League. For me, the Champions League is the Super League, in which you do not always end up playing against the same teams.

“Of course, it is [financially] important, but why should we create a system where Liverpool faces Real Madrid for 10 straight years? Who wants to see that every year?”

In the proposed format of the Super League, there will be 20 teams separated into groups of 2 – with 10 teams facing each other in the ‘league stages’ every season. So we could indeed see Liverpool face Real Madrid for 10 years if the seeding is done according.

Liverpool, along with the other Premier League sides, have been warned that they would be banned from playing in the league and their players barred from playing for their national teams if they go on to participate in the Super League.
