Mourinho: 'De Boer doesn’t have great experience as a national or club coach. I don't see Holland reaching semifinals at Euro 2020'

Frank de Boer doesn’t have great experience as a national or club coach," Jose Mourinho wrote in his Sun column assessing teams' chances at Euro 2020 ahead of the competition kick-off.

"Of course he was a very good player and respected in Holland. The players will look up to him. They are not bad players but where are the Van Bastens? Where are the Rijkaards?

"I don’t see them even reaching the semi-finals. They have good young players that will need probably another two or four years to be at the top of their game.

"Holland should get out of the group but to reach semi-finals or the final? I don’t see that."

The Netherlands are set to battle it out with Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia to decide who goes through to the knockout stage from Group C.

As for Mourinho and De Boer, the two were biting each other in the media a few years ago.

The Dutchman once suggested that Marcus Rashford might struggle under the Portuguese saying Jose doesn't give young players many opportunities.

Jose hit back at him labelling Frank the 'worst Premier League manager of all time'. De Boer was sacked by Crystal Palace after just 77 days in charge after the team suffered 4 losses at the start of the campaign.
