Christian Eriksen posts first pic of himself and message after on-pitch collapse

"Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family," Christian Eriksen wrote in a message that was shared by the Danish soccer association on Twitter.

"I'm fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.

"Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark."

At the end of the first half of the clash between Denmark and Finland, the Inter attacking midfielder collapsed suffering a cardiac arrest.

He received chest compressions by medics on the pitch as the Euro 2020 game was interrupted and resumed only a few hours afterwards.

The 29-year-old was taken to a hospital where his condition stabilised.

The team doctor revealed that Christian had been very close to losing his life.
