Marco Arnautovic after repordedly saying ‘I’m f * * * * * * your Albanian mother’: ‘I’m not a racist’

Austria striker Marco Arnautovic was caught in some controversy after scoring their final goal in the 3-1 win over North Macedonia in the Euro 2020 game on Sunday.

After scoring late into the game, Arnautovic reported shouted ‘I’m f * * * * * * your Albanian mother’ – something that was caught up by the mics.

Arnautovic apologized for the incident afterward and wrote on his Instagram: “There were some heated words yesterday in the emotions of the game for which I apologise - especially to the people from North Macedonia and Albania.

“I would like to say one thing very clearly. I AM NOT A RACIST! I have friends in almost every country and I stand for diversity. Everyone who knows me is aware of that.”

Arnautovic’s actions after the goal forced Austria captain David Alaba to grab him by the mouth and give the controversial striker a stern warning. However, UEFA has decided to punish the striker for his actions and slapped him with a one-game ban – which means he’ll miss the game against Netherlands on Thursday.
