One journalist voted for Ademola Lookman to win 2024 Ballon d'Or
An unnamed journalist put Ademola Lookman in first place of his top-10 list for the 2024 Ballon d'Or, report L’Equipe.
The reporter gave the Nigerian the most points, 15. The Atalanta forward finished in 14th place in the overall rankings.
Lookman scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 45 appearances for Atalanta last season, also scoring the hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Rodri, Vinicius Junior and Ademola Lookman aside, the players to receive the first-place votes were Jude Bellingham (five times), Dani Carvajal (four), Toni Kroos (two), Kylian Mbappe (one), Erling Haaland (one) and Lautaro Martinez (one).
Earlier, it was revealed that only 41 points had divided Rodri and Vinicius Jr in the final Ballon d’Or rankings. Three journalists who didn't include the Brazilian in their top 10 probably made the difference.
