IFAB will consider proposals to change offside law – including Arsene Wenger's famous suggestion

IFAB (The International Football Association Board) will have a look at the proposals to change the existing offside rule, reports The Times' Martyn Ziegler.

In particular, Arsene Wenger's 'daylight' suggestion will be taken into account. The Frenchman earlier proposed considering the situation in which a body part a player can score with is in line with the defender onside:

"We all agree that it would be nice if goals weren't necessarily chalked off for a toenail. We're looking at that and this trial is part of a broader look at whether there is anything we can do," the IFAB technical director, David Elleray, has said.

"We are seeing if there are ways in which we could deal with the challenges. This is part of an early debate," he added.
