Premier League clubs might rush to sell players due to disciplinary charges – The Guardian

12 January, 14:20

The Guardian reports that this week the Premier League will issue disciplinary charges against clubs if it deems that they have breached its profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) for the 2021-24 accounting period.

Charges are expected to be issued on Monday and Tuesday after the Premier League’s financial and legal teams were given time to study the clubs' financial books.

Last year, both Nottingham Forest and Everton were punished, with points being deducted—four for Forest and two for Everton.

Among the clubs that could face charges is Manchester United. Although they are confident that they have not breached any rules, rumours surrounding the potential sales of young talents like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho suggest that there may be limited flexibility for the club, according to the source.
