Premier League end dispute with Everton over financial rules breach

17 January, 15:46

The Premier League has discontinued pursuit of a complaint over Everton's alleged breach of the profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).

The remaining dispute had remained over the club’s 2022-23 accounts.

Last year, Everton admitted a breach of £16.6m for that financial year and were deducted two points. Questions remained over the capitalisation of interest payments, but all the disputes are now resolved.

"Everton can confirm the club has resolved all outstanding Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) charges brought by the Premier League," the club statement said.

"The Premier League has formally discontinued the second part of the PSR complaint for the period ending FY23 and has deemed the Club PSR compliant for FY24."
