Felipe Melo has announced his retirement.

"Today I am closing one of the most important chapters of my life: my football career. These were incredible years, full of battles and achievements, but above all, years in which I saw God's plan fulfilled in every step I took.

"Everything I experienced, every moment was guided by His hand, and I am infinitely grateful for the privilege of doing what I love," said the 41-year-old Brazilian.

Melo's last club was Fluminense, with whom he won the Copa Libertadores in 2023. He also won this tournament twice with Palmeiras.

Felipe is known for his performances with Almeria, Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter, Galatasaray, and other teams. The midfielder also played 22 matches and scored 2 goals for the Brazilian national team.

With Galatasaray, Melo won the Turkish championship twice and also claimed the national cup. He also won the 2009 Confederations Cup with Brazil.
