Camavinga reportedly set to return for Real Madrid ahead of Atletico clash

7 February, 10:10

Eduardo Camavinga is expected to be available for Real Madrid's derby against Atletico Madrid. The midfielder trained with his teammates on Thursday, suggesting he is fit to make the squad.

Carlo Ancelotti had hoped for Camavinga’s return, and this will be a boost for Madrid. The Frenchman has been out for three weeks after injuring his femoral biceps against Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid remain short in defence. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are long-term absentees, while Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are also unavailable. Ancelotti may turn to Aurelien Tchouameni in defence.

Camavinga’s versatility could be key in the upcoming fixtures. Madrid face Manchester City soon, and Ancelotti will rely on him to strengthen the midfield during a crucial period.
