‘Liverpool were too good for us’: Postecoglou reflects on Tottenham’s heavy loss to Liverpool
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou spoke about his team's 4-0 loss to Liverpool in the EFL Cup semifinal:
"Liverpool deserved the victory tonight. They were the better team, and we couldn't get a grip on the game. We weren't aggressive enough, and once they got comfortable, it was difficult for us to get control back.
"We needed to be braver with the ball and without it. They were in great form, and we didn't do enough. The second goal was disappointing, and we never got to grips with the game.
"I'm disappointed we didn't perform better and make it to the final. The players are disappointed too, but we have to keep going. There’s plenty to play for, with a big game against Villa on Sunday.
"We missed a good opportunity tonight, but now we focus on the next challenge," said the manager.
