Postecoglou concerned over Richarlison injury after Spurs' heavy defeat
Ange Postecoglou admitted Richarlison’s injury “didn’t look too good” after the forward limped off in Tottenham’s 4-0 EFL Cup semi-final loss to Liverpool.
Richarlison, making just his sixth start of the season, went down clutching his calf late in the first half and was replaced by debutant Mathys Tel.
Postecoglou confirmed it’s “probably one to add to the list” of injuries, adding, “We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s not looking great.”
Spurs struggled in attack, failing to register a shot on target. With Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, and Dominic Solanke also sidelined, Postecoglou experimented with Djed Spence in a right-wing role but admitted, “We just lacked that cutting edge. It’s tough when you have so many players out, but we have to find solutions.”
