Barcelona players reportedly want to avoid Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals. They believe Diego Simeone’s side will be fresher, as they are not playing in the Champions League play-off rounds.
According to AS, most of the squad see Atletico as a tougher challenge than Real Madrid. They remember the 2-1 loss at Montjuic earlier this season. Although the squad believes that loss was unfair, as they felt they dominated the game, the result still lingers in their minds.
Regarding Real Madrid, the squad would not mind facing them. Barca have beaten them twice this season (4-0 and 5-2), and Madrid have a tough Champions League tie against Manchester City.
Many players reportedly prefer a draw against Real Sociedad. They see them as a strong side but believe their smaller squad could struggle in the final stages of the season.
