Filippo Galli: 'After Milan conceded, they seemed like a boxer trapped in the corner'
Feyenoord secured a 1-0 win against Milan in the first leg of the Champions League Play-Offs at De Kuip. Igor Paixao opened the scoring after just three minutes, capitalizing on a mistake by Maignan.
Despite an offensive starting lineup featuring Leao and Pulisic, Milan, led by Sergio Conceicao, struggled to create real threats, with Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix unable to break down Feyenoord’s defense. The second leg will take place at San Siro on February 18.
Filippo Galli spoke to Milan TV, saying: “After the first goal, we seemed like a boxer trapped in the corner. We created a few chances, but Leao was missing the final touch.
"Gimenez appeared calm, but clearly wasn’t. Milan showed weaknesses, but Feyenoord played a great match, a top-level performance, and the coaching change had a similar effect to what happened when Conceicao arrived.”
